Weingut Rosi Schuster’s story began in 1979 when Rosi Schuster and her partner Franz started working on a 3-hectare vineyard in Sankt Margarethen. In 2000, their son Hannes Schuster began experimenting with Chardonnay and Sankt Laurent at the family estate. In 2007, Hannes took over the now 14-hectare winery and converted it to organic farming.

Hannes’ passion lies in old Austro-Hungarian grape varieties, focusing on Blaufränkisch, Sankt Laurent, and white field blends, as well as old-vine Grüner Veltliner and Furmint. He champions a low-tech, hands-off approach in the vineyards and cellar, prioritizing quality and old-vine appreciation.

Hannes’ wines showcase precision and purity, with his single-vineyard Sankt Laurent and Blaufränkisch reflecting the character of each vintage. Look out for special releases named after local villages, as they represent the best of Hannes’ work each year.
