100% Welschriesling
The grapes were harvested from a stake-trained, ecologically cultivated vineyard. Vinified using the ancient method, the grapes underwent fermentation for 2 weeks on the skins, followed by aging in neutral oak barrels on sediment.
Fermentation with indigenous yeast, unclarified, unfined, produced using traditional methods without the use of enzymes or other additives. Sulfur was not used at any stage of the production process. The total sulfur content of 23 mg/l is a result of its natural occurrence. Therefore, the wine is particularly suitable for individuals sensitive to higher levels of sulfur dioxide.
Heion belongs to the category of white “orange” wines. The same process used in the production of red wines was employed, where the grapes fermented together with the skins. This specific production method imparts the wine with a full color, a hint of tannins (atypical for white wines), a strong character, and a unique spectrum of aromas and flavors. The typical characteristic of Welschriesling takes a backseat in this vinification method, with the production process taking dominance.
Golden-yellow color with a subtle haze. Intense, typical Heion-style aroma with a dominance of fermented white fruit and traces of vegetables, citrus, dried meadow herbs, tea infusions, hay, and minerals. The aroma is not aggressive; maceration is not dominant but sets the direction. Exceptionally fresh and juicy on the palate. Citrus, white fruit, tannins, earthy-peaty minerality on the tongue. The acidity enhances the fantastic freshness and juiciness of the wine. A long, persistent finish that resonates in the mouth for a long time.
